Citispace has designed a range of modular urban apartments providing high specification living accommodation for 1-3 people.
What evolved was the need for high quality gateway apartments that were stylish and functional spaces for 1-3 people and which had to be genuinely affordable and sustainable in all respects.
Citispace has avoided gimmicks such as a disappearing beds and "duck under" mezzanines, concentration on achieving functional and attractive spaces for all elements of daily living.
The Citispace concept required repeatable construction, encompassing high quality finishes, precision detailing, proven sustainability, low maintenance, flexibility of design and the ability to deliver the product in a fast environmentally sustainable manner time and time again.
The challenge - To design and manufacture an attractive, genuinely repeatable and sustainable product for the target market, satisfying the demands of the planners, developers, engineers, architects, interior designers, contractors, financiers, insurers and – the production line – that can be viably transported to and erected in almost any location.

A tall order – The Citispace design team in partnership with leading professionals have risen to the challenge and the Citispace Urban Apartment is now a reality with the first major scheme completed in Leeds during 2006
The scheme in Leeds represents the first generation of Citispace Urban Apartments to become a reality. The units are capable of being designed into almost any scheme and location, particularly where a lightweight solution is required: modular construction is now producing a level of quality, speed and consistency that increasingly cannot be matched by traditional methods.
The modules are constructed in the factory using a lightweight galvanized steel framework and the entire structure complies with the latest Building Regulation requirements and is capable of achieving Premier Guarantee or NHBC warranties. Each apartment is totally self-contained structurally and all party walls, floors and ceilings have a minimum one hour fire rating.
